Who we are

Information we use

• When you place an order: your name, contact details, billing and delivery details, what you ordered, and payment and refund status. Stripe handles the checkout and card payment. We do not collect your full card number on this website.
• When you contact us: the name, email address, subject and message you provide, plus our replies.
• When you join the mailing list: your email address, any interest you select and where you signed up.
• When you visit: technical information needed to deliver and protect the site, such as requests and device or browser information processed by our hosting provider. A local browser setting may remember display preferences on your device.
• If you allow analytics: Google Analytics receives information about your visit, including pages viewed and browser details. After a confirmed payment, it also receives a checkout reference, product and order value, but not your name, address, email or card details. We do not load its tag until you choose to allow it. Your choice is stored in your browser.

Why we use it

• To take payment, fulfil orders, answer order questions and handle returns. This is needed for our contract with you.
• To answer enquiries and keep the site secure. We rely on our legitimate interests in responding and running the business safely.
• To send the Reigning Chomp mailing list only when you sign up. We rely on your consent. You can withdraw it at any time by emailing us.
• To keep records required for accounting, tax and consumer-law purposes. We rely on our legal obligations.
• To understand site visits and improve the website, but only if you consent to analytics. You can change that choice below.

We do not use your order details to add you to marketing emails without a separate sign-up.

Who handles your information

Stripe processes checkout and payment information. Netlify hosts the website and receives contact and mailing-list form submissions. Our business email provider carries customer messages. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts, so your browser also requests those files from Google. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics processes visit information for us. We share delivery details with the people packing orders and the delivery provider so they can send your parcel. These providers process information for their services; we do not sell your information.

Some providers may process information outside the UK. Where that happens, we use the protections required by data protection law and the provider's applicable terms.

How long we keep it

We keep order and payment records for the period required for accounting, tax and any related legal claims. We keep enquiries while we handle them and for any reasonable follow-up or legal need. We keep mailing-list details until you unsubscribe or we stop the list. Technical logs are kept according to our hosting arrangements and security needs. We review and remove information when it is no longer needed for these purposes.

Analytics choice

Google Analytics is optional. If you refuse it, the site still works. You can change or withdraw your choice at any time using this control. Withdrawing consent removes the analytics cookies we can access on this site.

If allowed, Google Analytics may set _ga to distinguish visitors and _ga_* to remember session state. Google's default lifetime for each is up to two years, subject to browser limits. Our site remembers your allow or refuse choice in local storage for up to six months, then asks again. We send page paths without URL query details and have turned off enhanced interaction measurement. A confirmed order is counted in analytics only when you have allowed it and return to this website after checkout. Stripe remains our record of all payments.

Your choices and rights

You can ask us for a copy of your personal information, to correct it, or to delete it where the law allows. You may also ask us to restrict use, object to some uses, or receive information you supplied in a portable form where applicable. You can withdraw mailing-list consent at any time. If you are unhappy with our response, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
